Shredded Wheatmeal Kuchen

Ingredients
1 packet Arnott’s Shredded Wheatmeal biscuits, crushed
50g rolled oats
2 tsp allspice
100g butter
¼ cup golden syrup
2 x 410g tins apple and rhubarb
3 tbs brown sugar

Topping:
¼ cup flaked almonds
40g butter
2 tbs golden syrup
Method
Preheat the oven to 180°C.

In a bowl combine the crushed biscuit, oats, and allspice. In a small pan melt the butter with the golden syrup then mix well with the dry ingredients.

Firmly press half the biscuit mixture into a 210mm springform pan. Spoon the 2 tins of fruit on top of this, sprinkle with brown sugar and then press down the remaining biscuit mixture. Scatter the almonds over the top.

Melt the butter and golden syrup for the topping and drizzle over the almonds before baking for 20 minutes, or until warmed through.

Serve hot or cold in wedges or spoonfuls with custard or ice-cream.
